Jan 22 Begin new semester - We will review Guidelines for Semester 2 IB 1Art Projects and Independent Work. We will meet this week, individually, to discuss Exhibition, CS and PP and fill out the IB Reflection Form
Feb 1 Comparative Study Development (criteria A: Analysis of Formal Qualities,and and most of B Interpretation of the Function and Purpose) Draft Due Use the Green and Orange boxes for the Criteria A Formal Qualities and Criteria B Function and Purpose as well as the art critique as tools to help develop your response (Google Slides Total 4-6 slides) Submitted on Google Classroom
Feb 13 Journal prompt Choose 1 and relate it to your overall theme if possible. Create this in your journal unless there is a specific reason for creating it on another material.
March 2 Process Portfolio Check and Exhibition Work Check (individual meetings where we will discuss the assessment criteria) Submit PP on Google Classroom
March14 Comparative Study Development (Fill in any missing information for criteria B: Interpretation of the Function and Purpose and do criteria C: Cultural Context and Significance) Draft Due Use the June King McFee Framework or a modified version of it. Submitted on Google Classroom
April 9 Studio Work-Master Interpretation Due
April 19 Compare and Contrast Artists (Use 2 artworks that you plan on using for your CS. The attached PDF is a simplified version of what you should submit. Go deep and analyze! Complete on Google Slides in any format you like. Submitted on Google Classroom.
May 3 Work toward your next homework due May 16th
May 16 Comparative Study Development (criteria D: Comparisons and Connections) Draft Due. 2-3 slides Submit on Google Classroom
May 29 Compare your work to the 1 or more of the artworks you used in your CS draft. Criteria F: 5 Slides Submit on Google Classroom
Note: We will have informal and formal checks on the progress of your exhibition works throughout the semester.

How to earn a good grade on your homework
Follow the criteria presented in class and on the website.
Homework assignments will take between 1 and 3 hours to complete.
All homework should be completed in your journal unless specified otherwise (not printer paper).
Fill the A4 Page of your journal.
Include a background when applicable.
Shade using a full range of values using a drawing pencil unless specified otherwise.
