All drawing/painting assignments are required to be in your Visual Arts Journal unless you are working on a larger scale or pushing the assignment to be more of a studio work on canvas or a specific type of surface.

Nov 28 Brainstorming your Exhibition:  Write a brief description of some of the ideas or themes you may want your exhibition to focus on.  Include at least 3 artists that you can use as a resource for your themes. Include images and cite Sources. Submitted on Google Classroom


Dec 5 Work in your Journal and photographing your work and next week's Annotation Art assignment.

Feb 6  First write an Art Critique from an artist that inspired or is related to your studio work.  Second, create a compare and contrast diagram between your work and the art historical work you critiqued.  Submit on Google Classroom.

Also during the Week of Feb 6:  Mid-Trimester Review (Bring in all completed and in progress Studio works from this trimester.  First Visual Arts Planning and Process meeting and form documentation.


Feb 13 Middle East Now Choose person and begin project research and sketching. (selected people are posted on Google Classroom)


Week of March 6 End of Trimester Process Portfolio


March 10th End of Second Trimester


March 13 Direct Observation Drawing and  Exhibition text for Middle East Now Project submitted on Google Classroom.


March 20  Continue studio work and updating Process Portfolio and begin Comparative Study Prep due next week.


March 27 Comparative Study Prep (3 Art Critiques) Criteria A


April 3 Me at 40


April 10 Begin work on your Comparative Study Content Development.  Take Criteria A from your 3 Art Critiques and add Criteria B and C. Use this worksheet to help: Build up your CS.  Due next month.


May 1 Master Interpretation (Due May 22nd now)


Week of May 8 Mid-Trimester Review.  We will review Guidelines for Independent IB Art work.  Second Visual Arts Planning and Process meeting and form documentation.

Homework PolicyAll homework is due at the START of class on the due date posted on the website.LATE homework  is homework that is turned in at the end of the class that it is due or the next art class = 1 grade lowerHomework turned in later then the following art class = ZEROHomeworks are explained in class and Internet connectivity is not an excuse for not completing homework.  The website is to aid you in your homework.If you put in effort into a homework but it did not come out as you expected or you misunderstood the assignment:  You may redo it for a better grade within one week.Absent:  You are responsible to find out what assignments you missed while absent.
