Middle East Now! ISF Collaboration Video
The students worked with the theme “Going Beyond Stereotypes” Each student (and myself) choose one person from the Middle East that they wanted to pay tribute to through an artwork. They selected people that range from artists, musicians, writers, activists to name a few. Each students’ artwork pays homage to their person in a variety of media. Some students are created an artwork highlighting the person’s accomplishments while linking to his or her artistic style. In the end, all of the student’s artworks are vastly different but hopefully reflect his or her appreciation for the person they selected. There are 18 students and myself that worked on this project. We created a video that showcases all of the steps that we went through to pay tribute to our person that goes beyond stereotypes, as well as show the completed works. This video was shown on the big screen at The Odeon during the closing ceremony of the Middle East Now Film Festival!
