Oil on Aluminum Dibond

Sandro Botticelli's Madonna Enthroned with Child, Four Angels, and Saints, (Also known as Pala di San Barnaba, Uffizi Gallery, Florence, Italy) is fused with an image of my daughter standing in front of a T-Shirt Stand in Siena, Italy. The young girl looks out in the direction of the image of baby Jesus. The juxtaposition relates to the idealization of motherhood and the expectations embedded into raising a child.
