Somaliland / Puntland / Somalia

The Puntland–Somaliland dispute is a territorial dispute over northern Somali. Puntland is in the north-east of Somalia and has declared itself an autonomous state in August 1998. Somaliland lies in northwestern Somalia, on the southern coast of the Gulf of Aden. Somaliland has been a self-governing region of Somalia but international recognition has remained out of reach.
