-Brushes: A variety of brushes is key. I recommend getting a few rounds, flats, and filberts in different sizes. Experimenting with both synthetic and natural bristles helped me understand what works best for my painting style.

- Canvas or Canvas Boards: Pre-stretched canvases or canvas boards are perfect for practice. - -

- Palette: A disposable or glass palette has been indispensable for mixing my paints. Ensure it’s spacious enough for you to mix colors freely.

- Mediums: Liquin or Damar Varnish, Linseed oil and odorless mineral spirits/Turps - turps are crucial for thinning paints and cleaning brushes, respectively.

- Rags or Paper Towels: Always have these at hand for wiping brushes and any spills.

- Protective space: well-ventilated workspace are important for safety when working with solvents.

- Optional: Palette Knife: Beyond mixing paint, a palette knife has been essential for adding texture to my work.

🖌️ Brush Cleaning Tips

1. First, I wipe off as much paint as possible with a rag or paper towel.

2. Then, I rinse the brushes in a jar of odorless mineral spirits, gently working out the paint.

3. Afterward, I wash them with mild soap and warm water to eliminate any solvent residue, reshape the bristles, and let them dry horizontally.

4. For a thorough clean, I occasionally use a brush cleaner or conditioner to keep the bristles soft and well-preserved.
