Part 3. Communication Visual Arts: This 3rd part has to do with understanding curatorial processes, what makes an effective exhibition and selecting and presenting the students own work.
Exhibition with a written rationale 40%
(Internally Assessed by subject teachers and moderated by the IB at the end of the course)
Students reflect on changes made during the process of creation and provide a rationale for the decisions regarding the selection of certain pieces for exhibition.
SL: 4‐7 pieces with reflective commentaries
HL: 8-11 pieces with reflective commentaries
The exhibition is focused on the most resolved works that show the greatest technical accomplishment and considers how a students has taken the audience into account when displaying the works. Works included in the exhibition cannot be included in the Process Portfolio.
Exhibition with a written rationale
Photos of each artwork, 2 photos of the entire exhibit of written rationale for artworks and Curatorial Rationale.
