DIRECT OBSERVATION
- Put a chair with a cloth draped over it in a simple environment.
- The goal is to depict the chair using two point perspective and depict the cloth with the use of chiaroscuro.
- Both of these devices were discovered and implemented during the Renaissance by every major artist.
(Do not copy the student examples. This is a DIRECT OBSERVATION drawing)
Be sure to:
- Let the angular parts of the chair show.
- Do not cover more than 50% of the chair with the cloth.
- Set the chair in an interesting environment.
- Use two point perspective.
- Keep the vanishing points off the page.
