Direct Observation
Set up a small display of flat small objects. Tape them or tack them in place.
These are all pencil drawings that take advantage of cast shadows, textures & limited depth. They were produced with hard and soft leads.
Advanced options:
- Add more objects and objects with texture
- Use watercolor, colored pencil or acrylic paint
